Sunny Cloudy Rain Sunny

It was a bright sunny day at 02.00 PM. The sky was so clear, the sunlight is so bright and yellow. The will of procrastination attacked me to take some pictures with my sister! When we just get ready, the dark clouds covered the sky. I guessed they would went away soon, but I was wrong! When we just half way to the place, the rain started to fall. So.... We wait in silence...

Intense May!

An intense week lies ahead! I'm about to finish my final project pre-report so I will allowed to join the pre-final presentation.

My work is far from done! *can't stop scratch my hair right now*

But here I came to have my therapy post....

Not actually my desk since I never have those shark jaw, but I used to work there :p
Anyway, if you love to collect your inspiration in visual form, you should try Pinterest, it's fun!

Well, since I don't have any garden, I decided to plant in the pot! My first attempt is orange seed but it never shows anything in the surface. Then my mom try to tease me with the onion, unfortunately it works. So, here it is, the onion :) *the beads are only for photography purpose* :p

Tjong A Fie's Mansion

Still linked with the previous post, I will show several photos of Tjong A Fie's beautiful mansion with some information that I could get from the guide :)

Some words that printed on the ticket:
"Tjong A Fie alias Tjong Fung Nam was born in 1860 in Sung Kow Village, Canton,China. He left mainland China and headed for the East Coast of Sumatra. He landed in Kampung Laboean (Belawan) in 1877. As he established his new life in Sultanate of Deli, he built a thriving grocery business.  Upon seeing his success the Dutch government appointed him as a government official, with the initial rank of Major, to care of social affairs, especially for the Chinese community. Tjong A Fie later built the city of Medan, he also. He also was appointed as an honorary officer of the Chinese Empire for the Far East during tthe era of the Ching Dynasty"

The picture of Tjong A Fie's family.

The mansion is located in the middle of the city and the shape is not has a major difference since built in 1895. It's the entrance gate.

It's the Chinese Guest room that will be seen right after you step inside. There are three guest room with different theme in this mansion.

Here is the praying altar for the ancestor.

Mr. & Mrs. Tjong A Fie's bedroom.

Some dried flower and herbs.

The clothes from 1890's era on the display.

The bedside table. The guide said that nothing in this room that changed. Means it's already been used by the family I guessed.

The chandelier in the ballroom.

I really adored every detail and pattern that came from every little thing in this mansion. I also felt grateful because there's a community that still care with history and tradition :)

Medan After Two Years

Now, I'm so happy that Blogger finally made a translator gadget! So, I don't need to make bilingual post anymore! Hurray!

I've been through so many places lately and just received a major event in my lifetime, my grandmother just passed away. I spent almost a week in Medan with my family. Although we felt sad, happiness surrounded us while the chit-chat is flowing around. We share much about our life in my hometown since my mother is the only one that live separately. Here is some pictures when my grandparents resting.

Since I'm a Buddhist, I do believe in reincarnation so I wish that my grandmother would have another great journey that much more better right now.

I also paid a visit to Tjong A Fie's mansion. He is a Mayor in Medan that already struggle to make the city grows in great shape. His mansion is open for public and located in the city. Each person should pay 35.000 IDR and a guide will accompany you for a tour. I'll give some update later!
