What is your favourite site to seek for inspiration? I always visit behance.net whether I need some inspirations or just for killing the boredom. After seeing so many people that passionately doing a creative project, my mood just boosted up to start something new. Behance always makes me enthusiast to draw because so many artist with their personal style put their work there.
Mr. Skull is one of the result after I get some enlightenment from Behance's various artist. Practice will makes you better and sometimes you need something different to draw. I seriously lack of anatomy senses when drawing human, that is why I try to learn from the very basic, human skull. And... this Joe Dassin's song titled Aux Champ Elysées is really sway me to learn French. That is the reason why Mr. Skull speaks French. Duh! He should be named Monsieur Crâne!
Anyway 'comment allez-vous?'means 'how are you' :)
I made this pirate girl between my spare times :) Anne Bonny and Mary Read are two awesome English pirates that inspired this piece. After several looks, the mountain on the right looks like having a face! ... and I'm still not sure what kind of bird that standing on her hand, it supposed to be a parrot, but... yeah, it turns out not even close... Haha... Also, red haired girl is my favourite when I create a character. I always picture them with brave and smart character (just like Merida in Brave) so the character already give me a great mood to work with.
And also I want to say thanks to Monica Olivia for joining my site! :)
As what I have promised before, this is my final project book! The redesign of '80 Days Around the World' by Jules Verne in Indonesian language! I only post several illustration that I like because not every page of that book is coming from my maximal effort.
Those two running man is Passepartout and Mr. Fogg, one man that peeking at the left side is Detective Fix. The places is moving! :D
The opening page.
The Sioux trying to attack the train.
On the journey to save Auoda.
The route.
The steam train.
The opening of chapter six. *my favorite chapter*
If you noticed, I made a decoration on the bottom page, the decoration change if the story being moved to the different place :)
The illustrated book and me :)
I wish you guys good luck for every projects that you are working on. Don't give up!
Yap, that's me working with the final project but my head filled with Miroslav Klose's face.
I'M SUPPORTING GERMANY FOR UEFA 2012!
I'm not supporting them because Miro is playing there. Germany vs Uni-Emirat Arab at FIFA World Cup 2002 is the first football match that I ever seen. How Germany team played was stunning and made me want to watch it until the end. Since then I always love to see Germany playing :)
Have a nice day, everybody! No matter if your supported country for UEFA 2012 was lost or still playing until now, all of the team is already trying and giving their best! Can't wait to see the final match. I really want to see Germany vs Spain, but this time it's Germany that hold the cup.
I jumped from one to another illustrator blog last night because the final project made me dizzy. After several blogs, I found Kali Ciesemier!!! And I just instantly falling in love with her illustration! She's really an inspiration! Her drawings makes me want to start drawing and learn to be better! Here's some of her drawings...
So, I've tried to make my own avatar by using her style. Yes, I know it's not even looks like having a same style because I only traced my own photo. I'm trying to use soft color palette like her so I'm not using a really different color scheme as I usually did.
Tattararaaa!
My friends asked me for a portrait
Haha, with the force of practice we will go forward! Thank you so much, Kali! *hug*
I've recently passed my visual final project presentation. I have things to change with the illustration and the colors but not that major problems. 10th July is my final project presentation day and I'm still on the half of chapter six from all eight chapters for making illustration of "Around the World in 80 Days" novel by Jules Verne. Although the date has already been postpone for the second time, I'm still drawing with a speed of turtle. But, better moving than just staring at your problems! ;)
I have noticed that there are JAL. and Rachel Gaby that already joined this site! Thank you, girls! It's been so long since a person that I don't know started to subscribe my blogs :') I know that what I shared here might be not that useful or good for other people since I'm just writing about my day and share something that I drew. Knowing that other people seeing this blog from the statistic already makes me happy, but having a new people interested joining this site is a blessing :)
I really want to post my drawings that out of my final project topic but I still searching for a good time to work on it. So... I guess see you again, every body! Have a nice day! :D
If you like to collect stamp and postcard or maybe crave for new social experience, Postcrossing might be a good choice for you! Once you registered, it will give you max 5 address that you must send a postcard to. For every postcard that received by the address, you will get a postcard from the other people, that also joined the site, randomly! So far I've been sending six postcards and received four. This one is my favorite :)
Just received this postcard from Silvia at Netherlands! She translated it as "Smile, that have to do more people." But I think it means "Smile is what people have to do more" :)))
I'm sketching the building at Pasar Baru when accompanied my dad bought stuff for the store. Although the place is crowded and smelly, I love the old buildings that being mixed with the new one. They will give us the unusual geometrical structure.
Wish you all a nice day! And for you that want to try to send a postcard, happy postcrossing! Maybe one day I'll send or receive a postcard for and from you! :p
Finally I bought myself a tablet! Hurray! It's been started since I got into Computer Graphic class when I know the function of a tablet. From that moment I have promised myself that I should own it. At that time I have another needs to run for, so the money was never been collected to buy it. But a few days ago, I could stand at Wacom stand in Festival Komputer Indonesia with pride! :')
My first attempt using tablet, the girl seems like having bruises everywhere, but I like her! (must proud of what we have made :p)
Voila! The new header!
I wish that all of you are getting better for what are you practice for!
It's another uneasy week but I learn something. Over thinking will only make things more miserable. It's important to stop and try to realize again at what point you are right now. Also, keeping a problem is like creating a time bomb. It will explode someday and you have nothing to fight against it.
But, if those thing already happened what you need to do is forgive yourself first and then fix another things.
Every failure will give you another precious life lesson, so don't regret it.
I decided to harvest the leek because it won't stay fresh any longer. The onion roots spread it's familiar smell in instant. I, somehow, feel guilty for took it out from the pot. The other reason is, there are already three tiny plant that grow in it's pot. I am sure they're the orange seed that I planted a month ago.
This drawing took several weeks because I only work on it when I feel stuck with my thesis. Thank you for being a good buddy for my refreshment!
I wish all of you that read this post will have a nice day! And remember, it's important to stop when you feel stuck so you won't lost in the middle of anything that you do!
An intense week lies ahead! I'm about to finish my final project pre-report so I will allowed to join the pre-final presentation.
My work is far from done! *can't stop scratch my hair right now*
But here I came to have my therapy post....
Not actually my desk since I never have those shark jaw, but I used to work there :p
Anyway, if you love to collect your inspiration in visual form, you should try Pinterest, it's fun!
Well, since I don't have any garden, I decided to plant in the pot! My first attempt is orange seed but it never shows anything in the surface. Then my mom try to tease me with the onion, unfortunately it works. So, here it is, the onion :) *the beads are only for photography purpose* :p
As a woman in common, I also love to see funny and unique stuff (but I'm not actually attracted with pink). Funny stuff is not always functional and usually expensive.
There is one thing that I needed lately, but I don't want to spend my money on it :p So, I decided to make it! The tools that needed to make this thing is simple and only basic sewing skill that used. And, we can choose the shape and the color that we like!
Voila! Jadilah kantong untuk hard disk!
Voila! It's a hard disk pouch!
Alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan:
Tools and things that needed:
Sayangnya, saya ga sempat memotret langkah-langkah pembuatannya, tapi kurang lebih seperti ini:
Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to take the step by step picture, but this is the steps:
The size of fabric and foam that needed is twice the length of the things that you would like to keep inside of it. Add 5 cm for the width size.
Place the foam on the fabric and fold it into two parts with the foam outside.
3. Jahit kedua sisi samping.
Sew both side.
Cut and tie the rubber lace with any length that you like for the top of the pouch.
Round up the rubber lace on the top of the pouch the fold out the fabric and the foam about 2 cm. Sew to make a room for the rubber lace.
Fold back the pouch, so the fabric will be on outside.
Waktu yang dibutuhkan: kurang lebih 1 jam
Needed time: about 1 hour.
Sungguh.
This project is quite fun to spend your spare time, also it will test up your patience. Really.
Recently, I've done recycled my sis tote bag... Still need some practice with the stitching :D
So, in this post I want to share some games that I would like to play. I'm not really a hardcore player although I've tried to play World of Warcraft (if this could considered as hardcore, haha). I love to play a game that has a stories, so I'll do my best to uncover the ending.
I used to play Nancy Drew series when I was on senior high school. I really want to play that series again but it's hard to find the Macintosh series here. I wish I have a paypall account, that would make my life easier... to spend my money. Glek! :p
And... This is the 'Delicious' new series, Emily's True Love! The title sounds too girly for me because I'm not into that kind of stuffs. Also, I usually love to play horror hidden object games than time management games, but this game is an exception. I love the stories, I love the graphics, I love the music, and I love how this game make me feel like having a family. Sounds crazy but that's how I feel. If you want to try, click this link!
Delicious has several series and I've been played the first series when I was high school. I never think that I will play this game again after the series have been growing like this. It has a very high detail picture and gestures. I suggest to enjoy the scene every scene then rushing for the score.
If you think I only play a cute graphic game... I'm not because I can't wait for the next Mystery Case Files series, Escapes from Ravensheart!
Things just got serious! Mystery Case Files series have been turn out way too different from the first series, but I like it. The first series of the game is look like this.
But, I do love them all :)
Imagine how these games growing from one series to another as long as I going older couldn't stop me to play! I mean, who doesn't love to play? Haha... Playing just give me another place to escape from my duty.
Also, I love to play this kind of games, traveling!
Biggest Little Adventure has an unique story plot, about a woman that never go to anywhere and a traveler man whom accidentally shrink because the strange experiment from the woman's uncle. (I just really bad with remembering names). Both of them going around the world to find the cure for the man. How romantic *raising one eyebrow*
Well, that's a wrap! I'll share more if I found another great game, maybe I should start to save some for buy a PSP? Or maybe a Wii? (I can't help myself when watching The Beatles Rockband trailer, haha).
Writing in this blog just give me a strength to back for my job. I must finished them before they make another line of pile in my head! Wish you all that read my blog will have another good game to play! ;)
This is my final project. Illustrated book of 'Around the World in 80 Days' by Jules Verne. Right now I got frustrated by the paper but I can't wait to step on the visual.
This illustrated book is splendid! I got it for only IDR 20.000 whether the original price is IDR 85.000 :B
Working on this drawing is my pleasure escape when I got stressed up.
Don't you realize that sometimes you might be not yourself? Sometimes you just feel that, well, this isn't me. How could I did that, acted like that, or even said something that really impossible for you? Somehow I just feel that I have an alter ego.... When I'm in my alter ego suit, I just can do anything that I want and forget all of my fears and sadness. Hm, is it possible if I just become crazy?
Made this for mid-term test of Art History Appreciation class, using Yokoo style from Japan.
This was my first project at illustration class. The lecturer wanted us to draw five animals and five humans with their personalities. These were the best 3 picture that I made. I still need many times for practice.
And these four pictures was my assignment to made 8 interactions between human, animals, and environment. And yes, my skill is still not good enough... Hehe... But I'll keep it up. So, just wait for more :D
P. S: Don't u think the 3rd interaction is too stupid? Haha, I'm lacking for ideas... :p
